Job Description:
Welder / Steel Fitter – Permanent Position in Oslo
Are you an experienced welder who enjoys practical construction work?
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Welder / Steel Fitter for a permanent, full-time position in Oslo. You will work on concrete construction projects, performing welding, fitting and installation of steel components.
The role involves close cooperation with steel fixers, formwork carpenters, supervisors and other construction professionals.
Main responsibilities
- Weld and install embedded steel components, brackets, plates and other steel parts
- Cut, prepare, fit and assemble steel components
- Perform welding and installation work connected to concrete and formwork projects
- Read and follow technical drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Check measurements, positioning and alignment before concrete is poured
- Inspect your own work and ensure the required quality
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
- Cooperate with other trades and site management
Any welding of reinforcing steel must be performed according to approved drawings, materials and welding procedures.
Minimum requirements
- At least 3 years of welding experience in the construction industry
- Valid driving licence, category B
- Relevant and valid welding certifications
- Experience with steel fitting, installation or assembly
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites
- Ability to communicate in English or a Scandinavian language
- Legal right to work in Norway
Experience from concrete construction, reinforcement work or installation of embedded steel components is an advantage.
